Consumer VR Ecosystem Map
A data visualization of the consumer VR headset market in relation to the compatible platforms for each device and the data ecosystems of those platforms. This visualization seeks to give consumers a clear idea of what platforms they will have access to with their headsets and how their data is collected and shared. It also seeks the illustrate the impact of Oculus devices and services new data sharing policy and allow consumers to better understand the implications of this policy.
The spheres representing VR headsets are estimated in sized relative to publicly available user and sales data.
VR market data comes from Steam usage survey, superdataresearch.com XR year in review and quarterly reports, and statista.com VR projected sales.
